In 1983, a group of office products industry leaders banded together to form the National Office Products Council, an alliance of industry executives dedicated to the support of City of Hope. From that point forward, the NOPC has led an annual City of Hope fundraising campaign, which has raised well over $62 million over the past 25 years. Funding has grown to encompass employee giving drives, company hosted golf outings and events as well as product and customer promotions. In fact, annual contributions have increased from $25,000 in 1983 to $7.2 million in 2007.

Industry support has also been directly responsible for a number of milestone projects at City of Hope. Nearly a decade ago, industry leaders decided to provide funding instrumental to the creation of the National Office Products Industry's Center for Biomedicine and Genetics (CBG). The CBG is the first biomanufacturing facility at an academic institution capable of producing FDA approved biological therapeutics. This revolutionary idea rapidly transformed the speed by which City of Hope researchers could progress clinical research to actual testing in patients.

The leaders of the NOPC have turned to the next revolutionary endeavor at City of Hope, The Beckman Center for Cancer Immunotherapeutics and Tumor Immunology.

Due to the NOPC's longstanding dedication, innovative leadership and compassionate support, office products is now considered to be the leading support group within all of City of Hope.

As part of our annual meeting, is.group will be raising funds for City of Hope. Many of our industry partners participate in fund-raising efforts each year, while others have not yet become involved. 2008 is your time, as companies and as individuals, to help further the good works of City of Hope.
